To the extent that external service providers are used to operate this website or to provide services by a Testo group company (hosting providers, applicant management, shipping service providers, etc.) or another Testo group company is responsible for processing, the companies in question only receive access to that extent your data as necessary to fulfill their respective tasks and functions.

If these service providers and Testo group companies process your data outside the European Union, this may result in your data being transferred to a country that does not offer the same data protection standards as the European Union.

In this case, we ensure that the respective recipients of your data contractually (standard contractual clauses) or otherwise guarantee a level of data protection equivalent to that of the European Union. You can obtain a copy of these Standard Contractual Clauses by sending a request to privacy@testo.de. 4. Why does this website use cookies?


We use so-called cookies to make navigation and use of our websites as user-friendly as possible. Cookies are smaller files with text information that are stored on your hard drive while you access the offer. Cookies are used to temporarily store information - for example for statistical evaluations or for the purpose of connection control while visiting a website. Cookies are also used to store visitors’ preferences. This allows us to tailor the content of our website to your needs and thus improve our offering for you. The data collected may include, in particular, the following data:

  • the device identifier of mobile devices,

  • technical information about the browser and operating system.

However, the data collected is only stored pseudonymously, so that no direct conclusions can be drawn about the person.

In the following descriptions of the technologies we use, you will find information about the options for objecting to our analysis and advertising measures using a so-called opt-out cookie. Please note that after deleting all cookies in your browser or later using a different browser and/or profile, an opt-out cookie must be set again.

Below we describe the objection options for our analysis and advertising measures. Alternatively, you can exercise your objection through the appropriate settings on the websites Truste, NAI, DAA or Your Online Choices, which provide collective objection options from many advertisers. These pages allow you to deactivate all advertisements at once for the listed providers using opt-out cookies or, alternatively, to make the settings for each provider individually.

5.1 Google (Universal) Analytics 

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyze and improve our website based on your user behavior. The data generated in this context can be transferred by Google to a server in the USA for evaluation and stored there. However, your IP address will be shortened before the usage statistics are evaluated, so that no conclusions can be drawn about your identity. For this purpose, Google Analytics on our website has been expanded to include the code “anonymizeIP” to ensure that IP addresses are recorded anonymously.

Google will process the information obtained through the cookies in order to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for website operators and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage.

You can configure your browser to reject cookies, as shown above, or you can prevent the collection of data generated by cookies and related to your use of our websites in the cookie settings of Google's privacy policy. Alternatively, you can also prevent Google from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser add-on provided by Google (the latter does not work on mobile devices).

Google Optimizer allows us to use so-called “A/B testing” to understand the impact of various changes to a website (e.g. changes to input fields, design, etc.). Cookies are stored on users’ devices for these testing purposes. Only pseudonymous user data is processed.

We use “AdWords Conversion Tracking” to record and analyze defined customer actions (such as clicking on an ad, page views, downloads). We use “AdWords Remarketing” to show you individualized advertising messages for our products on Google partner websites. Both services use cookies and similar technologies for this purpose. The data generated in this context can be transferred by Google to a server in the USA for evaluation and stored there.

If you use a Google Account, depending on the settings stored in your Google Account, Google may link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account and use information from your Google Account to personalize ads. If you do not want this association with your Google account, you must log out of Google before accessing our contact page.

5.5 Microsoft Ads

Our website uses the Microsoft Ads analytics service, an analytics service provided by Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA; hereinafter “Microsoft Ads”.

If users visit our website, “Microsoft Ads” stores a “cookie” on the user’s device. Using “cookies” and “tracking pixels”, “Microsoft” processes the information generated by users’ devices about the use of our website and interactions with our website as well as access data (IP address, browser information, previously visited website, date and time of Server request) across devices for the purpose of displaying and analyzing personalized advertisements. This means that users can be shown targeted, interest-based advertisements in relation to search results in search engines from “Bing” and “Yahoo”. The advertisements may also relate to products and services that users have already viewed on our website. In addition, “Microsoft Ads” uses ad server cookies to measure your activity on our website and thus the reach of our advertisements and thus to be able to understand the effectiveness of these advertisements.

The storage period is 12 months.

The legal basis for processing is your consent in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a) GDPR. The data generated in this context can be transferred by Microsoft to a server in the USA for evaluation and stored there. If a transfer takes place to an unsafe third country, this is done on the basis of Art. 49 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

6. Use of functions from other providers

7. When will your data be deleted?

In principle, we only store personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill contractual or legal obligations for which we collected the data. We will then delete the data immediately, unless we need the data until the end of the statutory limitation period for evidentiary purposes for civil claims or due to statutory retention obligations.

For evidentiary purposes, we must retain contractual data for a further three years from the end of the year in which the business relationship with you ends. According to the statutory limitation period, any claims expire at this point at the earliest.

Even after this, we still need to store some of your data for accounting reasons. We are obliged to do this due to legal documentation obligations that may arise from the Commercial Code, the Tax Code, the Banking Act, the Money Laundering Act and the Securities Trading Act. The deadlines specified there for storing documents are two to ten years.

8. What Data Protection rights do you have?

You have the right to request information about how we process your personal data at any time. When providing information, we will explain data processing to you and provide you with an overview of the data stored about you.

If data stored by us is incorrect or no longer current, you have the right to have this data corrected.

You can also request that your data be deleted. If deletion is not possible due to other legal regulations, the data will be blocked so that it is only available for this legal purpose.

You can also have the processing of your data restricted, e.g. B. if you believe that the data we hold is incorrect. You also have the right to data portability, i.e. H. that, upon request, we will send you a digital copy of the personal data you have provided.

To exercise your rights described here, you can contact the contact details above at any time. This also applies if you would like to receive copies of guarantees proving an adequate level of data protection.

You also have the right to object to data processing, which is based on Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter e or f GDPR. Finally, you have the right to complain to the data protection supervisory authority responsible for us. You may exercise this right with a supervisory authority in the Member State of your residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. In Baden-Württemberg the responsible supervisory authority is: The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg, PO Box 10 29 32, 70025 Stuttgart, Königstraße 10a, 70173 Stuttgart.

9. Right of withdrawal and objection

In accordance with Article 7 Paragraph 3 GDPR, you have the right to revoke your consent to us at any time. This means that we will no longer continue the data processing that was based on this consent in the future. The revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent before its revocation.

If we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Art arise from your particular situation or the objection is directed against direct advertising. In the latter case, you have a general right to object, which we will implement even without giving reasons.

10. Data Security

We maintain current technical measures to ensure data security, in particular to protect your personal data from dangers during data transfers and from third parties gaining knowledge of it.
