Reliable high temperature measurement

Testo thermal imagers adapt to the requirements for applications with high temperatures. With the high temperature option, the measuring range can be flexibly extended up to 1,200 °C . The high-contrast presentation on the display is achieved via the high-temperature iron HT color palette or the special histogram adjustment.

Preventive mechanical maintenance

To maintain safety and reliability of machines, thermal imaging is used to identify problem components showing elevated stress levels caused by friction, misalignment, or internal damage. The high temperature resolution Testo thermal images will identify problem areas. For example, failing bearings will show clearly their location in the thermal image. Preventive maintenance can be scheduled then between the shifts to eliminate production downtime.

Electrical maintenance checks

Testo thermal cameras are used to spot overheating components in the low, medium, and high voltage systems. Thermal images help to locate parts that are either failing or exposed to imbalanced loads. Routine thermal scans are used to prevent outages and fire risks.

Location of structural defects in buildings

Testo thermal cameras are used for speedy detection of structural problems in the new and old buildings. Roof leaks are often located away from the dripping water, and hard to trace windows permeability, or the mold hazard areas come clear in thermal images. Testo thermal cameras are ideal to investigate heat loses, thermal bridges and missing insulation.

Preventing mold formation

Thermal bridges waste energy. Condensation can also form in such places due to the humidity in the ambient air. As a result, mold forms in these locations with the associated health risks for the occupants. Testo thermal imagers use the externally determined ambient temperature and humidity as well as the measured surface temperature to calculate the relative surface moisture value for each measuring point. This means mold formation is shown on the display before it becomes visible to the naked eye: areas at risk are displayed in red, areas not at risk are displayed in green. This makes it possible to introduce measures to prevent dangerous mold formation at an early stage - including in hidden corners and niches.

Providing comprehensive energy advice

In building thermography, infrared technology is particularly suited for quick and effective analysis of energy losses in buildings’ heating or air conditioning systems.
