CO meter

The carbon dioxide (CO2) content of the air is an indicator of the indoor air quality – assuming that human respiration constitutes the main emission source for the CO2.

Carbon monoxide meters from Testo

With Testo you are always on the safe side.

Measuring instruments with CO2 sensors such as a CO2 analyzer, enable you to reliably control this important value: because, as the air quality falls (increasing CO2 content in the air), performance also falls. A CO2 analyzer or measuring device from Testo has a range of advantages.

Measure CO2 with Testo – your advantages

  • Easy, accurate CO2 measurement.

  • Robust, tried and tested instruments.

  • Ideal for monitoring and optimizing indoor air.

  • CO2 measuring instruments with unbeatable price-performance ratio.

5 tips for efficient CO2 measurement!

It is very quick to sum up which CO2 measuring instrument it is possible to use for reliable recording of exhaust gas: each of the numerous Testo models meets the high requirements made by professional users all over the world. As to ensure you actually achieve maximum measurement precision with your CO₂ measuring instrument, simply take these 5 small but important tips into consideration:

  1. Choose the right measuring instrument: Do you need a CO2 meter for continuous data logging, or do you take measurements sporadically at various locations? Depending on your requirements, a stationary CO2 data logger or a portable CO2 or indoor climate meter—such as the testo 400—would be ideal.

  2. Consider ambient conditions: Both fine dust and condensation affect the optical path and, consequently, the measurement results.

  3. Do not breathe on the probe: Your breath is saturated with CO2 and must not be directed toward the probe. Simply use a tripod and stand a short distance away.

  4. Measure at head height: When taking measurements in the workplace, determine the CO2 level at the head height of the people working there.

  5. Perform a routine check if CO2 levels are high: Elevated CO2 concentrations may indicate that the ventilation system is not set correctly. A quick check is always a good idea.

What is CO?

When people breathe out, they release colorless and odorless carbon dioxide – a gaseous combination of carbon and oxygen which is harmful or deadly at a high concentration:

  • If the CO2 concentration in the air we breathe rises above 150,000 ppm, unconsciousness occurs.

  • The CO2 limit value in offices is 1,000 ppm.

  • The optimum value is 400 ppm.
