testo ε-Assist automatically sets emissivity (ε) and reflected temperature (RTC) – for accurate thermal images.
Emissivity
Emissivity is a measure of how well a material gives off heat as infrared radiation. In thermal imaging, emissivity is important because it affects temperature readings. The Testo e-Assist function simplifies the process of setting the correct emissivity value by allowing users to apply predefined settings or measure emissivity using a reference marker. This ensures that the thermal camera provides precise temperature readings, reducing errors caused by incorrect emissivity settings.
Reflected Temperature
Reflected temperature refers to the ambient thermal radiation that is reflected off the surface of an object being measured. This radiation can affect the accuracy of infrared temperature readings if not accounted for properly. In practical thermal imaging, the reflected temperature is an important parameter because infrared cameras detect all radiation within their field of view, including the radiation from surrounding objects that reflects off the target surface. To compensate for this, Testo thermal cameras allow users to input the reflected temperature value manually or use testo e-Assist to determine it automatically.
Attach testo ε - marker and a reference sticker, onto the surface of the object you intend to measure.
